On 28 Aug 1797 it was determined that Caleb Broadwater, died intestate in 179_ (1790), leaving Robert, Hetty and Betsy Broadwater, all infants of tender years, and his widow Rachel Broadwater. At the time of his death, Caleb Broadwater owned 3 acres in Acc Parish. On 10 May 1795, Betsy Broadwater, the sister of Robert and the daughter of Rachel, died intestate, under age and without issue (Acc Co Land Causes, 1773-1805, p. 177). On 1 Mar 1831 it was ordered that Thomas Lilliston, Anne Lilliston, Edmund Lilliston, Samuel Nock, Sally Bowen, wife of James Bowen and Polly Nock are the only heirs at law of Covington Broadwater dec'd. formerly a midshipman in the Virginia Navy during the Revolutionary War (Acc Co Orders, 1829-32, p. 241).
