     Catherine is mentioned in Whitelaw, p1274, in describing the ownership of tract A151, which is on the north side of Messongo Creek, near Sanford. According to Whitelaw, Catherine was married 3 times: first to Stephen Philby (?-1687), second to Sebastian Delastatius (?-1709), and third to Edward Moore (?-1718). In 1731 Catherine Moor made deeds of gift of 250 acres each to her Philby children; her daughter Catherine and her husband John Hall were to have the eastern half, and George Philbie the western; the Halls were to have their part only for life and then it was to go to their son Daniel. According to Nottingham's Acc Land Causes, p24/25, which refers to Acc Land Causes 1727-1773, p283: "Hitchen's Lessee vs. Ejectment Proceedings. Hall - That Catherine Moore being seized in fee of the premises in question by deed dated 7 Sep 1726 conveyed the same to her son in law Thomas Stockly, of Sussex County, Delaware, being 200 acres in Jolly's Neck adjoining the land of Hancock Custis, and being a tract of land formerly belonging to John Bayly; That soon afterwards the said Catherine died possessed of the premises after whose death George Philby, her eldest son & heir at law, entered into the premises and was thereof seized and possessed; the said Thomas Stockly being then and always afterwards until his death resident in the Province of Maryland or Pennsylvania; That the said George Philby being so in possession by deed dated 7 Mar 1737, conveyed the premises to Daniel Byrd, and that Daniel Bird by virtue of said deed entered into the premises and was thereof possessed, and by his deed dated 6 Mar 1739, conveyed the same to George Philby the younger; That the said George Philby the younger, by virtue of the said deed entered upon the premises and on the ____ day of ____ 1749 devised the premises by his last will and testament to his wife Mary in fee simple, and afterwards departed this life, by virtue of which the said Mary entered into the premises and was therof possessed, and afterwards was lawfully married to Gerard Hitchens who entered upon the premises and was thereof possessed by himself and tennants until about the year 1755. Thomas Stockly and Capewell Stockly, sons of Thomas Stockly, entered into this Government, having been always before that residents out of this Government, and entered into the premises aforesaid; That the said Thomas Stockly and Capewell Stockly by their deed date 27 April 1755, conveyed the premises unto the defendant in these words, to-wit: "This indenture made this 27 April 1755, between Thomas Stockly and Capewell Stockly of New Hanover, in the Province of North Carolina, Planters, on the one part and Daniel Hall of Accomack County in the Colony of Virginia, Planter of the other part, &c." That the said Mary, the devisee of the said George Philby the younger, is the feme lessor of the plaintiff and now in full life &c. 25 Oct 1763. Catherine was born circa 1650. She married Stephen Philby circa 1670.2,3 She married Sebastian Delastatius circa 1690.2,3 She married Edward Moore circa 1710.2,3 Catherine was named in a deed in in 1731 at Accomack Co, VA.2 Catherine died after 1731.2

     According to Nottingham's Wills and Administrations, p39, which refers to Acc Co Wills &c. 1692-1715(xi), p461, Sebastian Delastius' will, written 25 Jan 1705/6 and probated 1 Feb 1708, specified that items were left to: his son Sabastian Delastius, son in law (meaning step son) George Philbe, Grandson Peter Delastius, and Granddaughters Batillina and Frances Delastius. His daughter Roda (under 15) got 300 acres purchased of George Layfield, being part of 700 acres. Daughter in law (meaning step daughter) Katherine Hall was also mentioned. To his then wife Katherine (impling other marriages) 200 acres where I now live puchased of John Baily. Wife and daughter Roda resid. legatees. Wife Exec. Witt: Robert Pitt, Robert Smith, George Philbe. Sebastian was born circa 1650. He married Catherine (-----) circa 1690.2,3 Sebastian died in 1708 at Accomack Co, VA.4,5

Edward Moore1

     According to Nottingham's Certificates and Rights, p10, which refers to Acc Co Deeds & Wills 1663-1666, p80, 17 Nov 1664, a certificate was granted to Edward Moore for 200 acres of land due p: rights underwritten vizt: Edward Chapman, Eliza Moore (perhaps his wife), Edward Burgis, and Audery Angell. Edward Moore is mentioned in Whitelaw, p1274, in describing the ownership of tract A151, which was on the north side of Messongo Creek, near Sanford. According to Whitelaw, in 1666 a patent was issued to James Taylor for 200 acres; three years later he assigned to Edward Moore. 1669 As reported, Moore bought the western 100 acres of A150 from Charles Ratcliffe. 1672 Moore received a patent for 400 acres to include the Taylor land and 200 acres of new land, and this, with his Ratcliffe purchase gave him 500 acres. 1718 Moore left everything to his wife Catherine; no childern were named in his will. For more on this tract, see his wife Caherine's record. According to Nottingham's Wills and Administrations, p57, which refers to Acc Co Wills, Deeds &c. 1715-1729 v.i., p94, Edward Moore's will, written 18 Jan 1713/14 and probated 7 Jan 1717/18, specified that: wife Katherine left the land and plantation where I now live on the north side of Mossongo Creek containing 500 acres. Items were left to Elizabeth Flear, daughter of William and Heaster Flear, to Samuel Cowly, son of Mary Cowly that was, but now Mary Shahe. Wife executor. Witt: James Kempe, John Sandford, Simon Smith. Edward was born circa 1650.      Daniel Shae/Shay is mentioned in Whitelaw, p1258, in describing the ownership of tract A147, which is a very large tract containing the towns of Temperanceville and Hallwood. "1724 - Edmond Baly sold his own inheritance as 133.5 acres to Daniel Shae, and the next year Edmond and Elenor Bayly joined with his brother Robert in a sale of the John and Robert parts to Shae. At the same time they sold an excess 83 acres to William Lucas, Jr. 1742 - Danile Shae gave 133 acres to his son John. 1769 - John and Tabitha Shae gave 50 acres to Henry Hall who had married their daughter Mary. 1790 - John Shay left the balance of his land to a grandson John Shay Hall. The village of Hallwood is on this land and takes its name from this Hall family." According to Nottingham's Wills and Administrations, p172, which refers to Acc Co Orders 1753-1763, p378, the administration of Daniel Shae's estate was to John Shae, with William Matthews as security, 27 Jan 1761.      Richard was born circa 1640 at Nansemond Co, VA. He was the son of Maj. Thomas (2) Davis. Richard patented land on 20 January 1667 at Back Creek, Manokin River, Som Co, MD. Richard Davis settled in Somerset Co, MD by 20 Mar 1664/5 when 300 acres know as "Davis's Lott" on the south side of Back Creek was surveyed for him. The patent was issued 20 Jan 1666/7..2 He married Elizabeth Berry circa 1675.2 He married Sarah (-----) circa 1690.2 Richard died on 20 February 1697 at Somerset Co, MD.2

Charles Hall Sr.

M, b. circa 1635, d. 1695
     On 20 Jan 1664/65 Charles Hall was credited with having transported into the Colony of Maryland Ellis (Allice) Hall, Mary Freake, and John Walker. On 6 Jun 1665 he patented "Hall's Choice," 300 acres. In 1685 Charles Hall and William Planner were among commissioners named to lay out towns in Somerset Co, MD (The Boston Family of Maryland, p. 395). Charles was born circa 1635 at England.1 He married Alice 'Ellis' (-----) before 1664 at England.1 Charles immigrated to in 1664.1 Charles died in 1695 at Annamessex, Som Co, MD.1
