A reasonable supposition is that this son was named Bagwell Mason for his father and was the Bagwell Mason who married Ann Townsend by bond of 15 March 1821 (Wor. Co. Mar. Rec. 1795 - 1865, p. 79)..

William appears on the list of tithables at Accomack Co, VA, for in 1787. William Mason was listed next to his brother, Bennet Mason, on the 1787 tax list for Accomack County.. William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. The 1800 census shows him living near brother Bennet Mason at Kegotank, in Accomack Parish. His age was here given as 26 to 45. He had two males in his household under 10 years and one male 10 to 16 years of age. The only female in the household, his wife, was over 45 years, suggesting she could have been married before.. William bought land on 30 April 1805 at Accomack Co, VA.
