According to Acc Co Orders, 1822-24, p166, "A deed from John S. Hall to William Parramore (Sheriff) was fully proved by the oath of George Scarburgh a witness thereto and ordered to be recorded." John Hall and his wife Nancy sold real estate to William Jones on 5 Sep 1825 (Acc Orders 1824-27, p206). John was born circa 1781 at Accomack Co, VA.2 He was the son of Henry Hall Sr. and Mary 'Molly' Shay. John was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He is shown as John Hall (of Henry) on the same page as his father, Henry Hall. John is the only free white in the family, age 16-26 (b. 1775-1785), therefore his birth is estimated at circa 1781. He had 2 slaves..3 He married Henrietta 'Hetty' Dixon on 2 September 1801 at Accomack Co, VA. Elijah Shay was the security on the M.L.B. of John Hall and Henrietta Dixon..4 John was named in his father's will on 9 February 1803 at Accomack Co, VA. He was left only one shilling..1 John was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at Accomack Co, VA. He is shown on the page after his mother Molly Hall. He is the only free white male in the family, age 26-45 (b. 1765-1785). Free white females included 1 age 0-10 (b. 1800-1810) and 1 age 16-26 (b. 1785-1795). He had 1 slave..5 John was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. In the 1820 Census there were 3 John Halls listed as heads of families. One was in St. Georges Parish and two were in Acc Parish. John Shay Hall is assumed to be the one in Acc Parish on the page next to his brother Thomas Hall. This family shows free white males to include 1 age 0-10 (b. 1810-1820) and 1 age 26-45 (b. 1775-1795). Free white females included 2 age 0-10 (b. 1810-1820) and 1 age 26-45 (b. 1775-1795). He had no slaves..6 John was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. In the 1830 Census there were again 3 John Halls listed as heads of families. One was in St. Georges Parish and two in Acc Parish. John Shae Hall is assumed to be the one listed on the same page as his brother Thomas Hall in Acc Parish. This family shows free white males to include 1 age 5-10 (b. 1820-1825), 1 age 10-15 (b. 1815-1820) and 4 age 50-60 (b. 1770-1780). One of these would be John himself, b.c. 1781, but the other 3 are questionable. Free white females include 1 age 10-15 (b. 1815-1820) and 1 age 50-60 (b. 1770-1780). There were no slaves..7

Tabithia Hall is mentioned in her grandfather John Shay's will, but not in her father Henry Hall nor her mother Molly (Shay) Hall's wills. It is therefore assumed that she predeceased her father. Since there were 7 white females listed in the 1800 census with her father, she is probably one of the (-----) Hall daughters listed, but which one has not been determined. Otherwise there would have been 8 daughters. Tabithia was born before 1788 at Accomack Co, VA.1 She was the daughter of Henry Hall Sr. and Mary 'Molly' Shay. Tabithia died before 1810.2

Daniel Hall is mentioned in Whitelaw, p1274, in describing the ownership of tract A151, which Daniel inherited from his grandmother, Catherine, through his mother Catherine and her husband John Hall. In 1785 Daniel Hall left to his son Henry, and in 1810 he (Henry) (wife Molly) left the eastern 120 acres to his son Thomas and the western home part of 126 acres to his son Henry. Daniel is also mention on p1280, in describing the ownership of A158, which is just to the west of Sanford and extents to the Pocomoke River. In 1770 Jonathan and Joyce Mears sold 100 acres to Daniel Hall, it being part of the land which had been bought from Simon Smith, Jr. In 1784 Daniel Hall (the year before his death) sold to John Silverthorne. He is also mentioned on p1293, in describing tract A162, which is in the Bullbegger area. In 1755 Thomas and Capewell Stockley, sons of Thomas, of New Hanover county, in the province of North Carolina, sold to Daniel Hall. In 1785 Hall left to his son Dixon, who was then living here. In 1820 Dixon Hall left the major part to his son Luther and the balance to his son Erastus. In 1822 Luther sold a surveyed 169 acres to Caleb Duncan, and two years later 58 acres which had belonged to Erastus were surveyed for a division among his heirs. These surveys revealed that Erastus' land was at the east end, while Luther's land was along the road. Daniel Hall is also mentioned on p1316, in describing the ownership of A170, which is just southwest of New Church. In 1755 John Stockley sold a portion of the tract to Daniel Hall, who in 1757 sold 200 acres to Andrew Simpler of Worcester Co, MD. Daniel Hall's will, written 4 June 1784, probated 23 Feb 1785 and further proved by Susanna Riley, a witness thereto, on 27 Apr 1785, specified: ITEM - To my daughter Susanna Kennet all the negroes and cash and all of everything that she hath in her possession that ever was mine and also 10 pounds current money of Virginia. ITEM - To my son Henry Hall the land he now lives on and one negro man named George that he now hath in possession, one hand mill, my high chest of drawers and my brandy still and worm.      The fact that his name was Richard Dixon Hall is based on Census records listing him as Dixon, his will listed him as Dixon and his son Richard Hall marriage license bond showed "Richard son of Richard." According to Jane Kahler, Dixon Hall was a soldier in the Rev. War, but he is not listed as such in Nottingham's Rev. Soldiers and Sailors. His tithables included: 8 blacks above age 16; 6 blacks under age 16; 4 horses, mares, colts & mules; and 14 cattle. Free white females included: 1 age 0-10 (b. 1800-1810) and 1 age 26-45 (b. 1765-1785). He had 9 slaves. If all of these were his children, he would have had 3 sons and 2 daughters living with him at this time and his wife, over 45 in the 1800 Census, would have died. According to Nottingham's Wills and Administrations, Dixon Hall wittnessed the will of Cathrin Marchant in 1779 and Robert Pitt's in 1794.      There are various references in Acc Co records to both a Dixon Hall and a Richard Hall, as the husband of Margaret White, as the brother of Erastus, and as the son of Dixon Hall. The only way all these references can be reconciled is if this person were named Richard Dixon Hall and was referred to both as Dixon and as Richard. The same confussion applies to both his father and his son Richard Dixon Hall. For more on this see his wife Margaret. The 1820 Acc Census shows Richard Hall in Acc Parish on the same page with Luther Hall. Richard's age is 26-45 (b.1775-95). There is 1 male age 0-10, 2 females ages 0-10 and 16-26, 1 slave and 1 free colored. Dixon Hall, Jr.'s will, written 9 Apr 1829, specified: ITEM - To son Erastus Hall the land joining Caleb Duncan and 25 acres of woodlands of the place where I live. ITEM - To son Dixon the whole of the land where I live, except the 25 acres given to Erastus. ITEM - Daughters Eliza, Ann, Mary, and Louisa Hall. Executor: Thomas Fletcher. Witnesses: Noah Smith, Abigail Smith and Nancy Smith. Bond: $2,500 with John Massey and Jesse Dickerson securities. On 27 Sep 1830 it was ordered that Richard Hall's estate be audited, "Thomas Fletcher, Executor of Richard Hall dec'd, ordered that Henry Fletcher, Michael Robins and John P. Drummond or any 2 be commissioned to state, adjust and settle the estate of Richard Hall and report to the Court." (Acc Co Orders 1829-32, p182). On his marriage license bond (to Peggy White, daughter of Robert) he is shown as "Richard Hall, son of Richard." This final reference to Richard Hall is further proof that Richard and Dixon were the same person. Richard was born circa 1780.2 He was the son of Richard Dixon Hall I and Anna Hunt. He married Margaret 'Peggy' White on 29 July 1816 at Accomack Co, VA.3 Richard was named in his father's will on 26 August 1818 at Accomack Co, VA. He was left the plantation where his father lived that was bought of Elijah Bunting and Negro man Moses..1 He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.2 Richard died in 1829 at Accomack Co, VA.4 Richard's will was probated on 26 October 1829 at Accomack Co, VA.4
