     Mr. Darius Thomas Hall, a retired farmer and waterman, fromer a resident of Jenkins Bridge, died on 24 Apr 1960, aged 83 years. He was the son of Asa and Mary Hall. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 5 May 1960). Darius was born on 16 January 1877 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Asa Darius Hall Sr. and Mary E.A. 'Puss' Justice. He married Annie M. Lewis on 4 May 1898 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA. He was a 21 year old oysterman and she was age 17..² Darius was on the in 1900 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³ Darius was living in 1956 at Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Darius died on 24 April 1960 at age 83.⁵

     Catherine was born on 19 June 1875 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Edward Thomas Churn and Ambert Hall. She married William Walter 'Tobe' McCready on 27 March 1890 at MD-VA line.³ Catherine was living in 1890 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Catherine was on the in 1898 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁵ Catherine died on 10 June 1928 at age 52. Catherine J. McCready, aged 54 years, died at home at Sanford, on 10 Jun 1928. Interment was in the Lewis Cemetery (later moved to J.W. Taylor). Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 15 Jun 1928). Mrs. Katherine J. McCready of Sanford, VA, died 10 Jun 1928, aged 54 years (Pen. Ent., 20 Jun 1963 - 35 years ago)..⁶ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁷

     Amriet was born on 13 April 1895 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of William Walter 'Tobe' McCready and Catherine Jane 'Kate' Churn. Amriet was on the in 1908 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² She married William Edward 'Willie' Bunting Sr. on 2 July 1911 at MD-VA Line, Wor Co, MD.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴ Amriet was living in 1928 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁵ Amriet died on 11 March 1987 at age 91.⁶

     William was born on 31 July 1885 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Levin Bunting and Sarah Jane Anderton. William was living in 1911 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Amriet Susan McCready on 2 July 1911 at MD-VA Line, Wor Co, MD.³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴ William died on 21 April 1960 at age 74.² His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     George was born in 1822 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Laura A. Johnson in 1876.² George died in 1897.¹

     Thomas was born circa 1838 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of James McCready and Sallie Ann Marshall. Thomas was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas MaCready, age 12 in HH#560 headed by James MaCready, a 45 year old farmer..³ He married Elizabeth P. Small on 21 March 1866 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas McKeady, a 26 year old single farmer, the son of James & Sally McKeady and she was shown as Eliz'th P. Justice, age 30 and divorced, the daughter of Solomon & Sally Small. They were married by J.E. Bundick..¹ Thomas was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas McCready the head of HH#MT444, a 37 year old farmer. Listed with him were the following McCreadys: Elizabeth, age 36 and keeping house; Joseph, age 10; Anna, age 8; Lloyd, age 3; and Solomon, aged 6 months, born in December. (Note: Joseph and Anna were probably Elizabeth's children by James Justice, who she had divorced.).⁴ Thomas died on 28 August 1907 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA. The newspaper shows him as Thomas McCready, who died this week and was survived by invalid wife, and 2 sons Lloyd and Solomon McCready. From the Mears local news..^5,6 His body was interred at McCready Cem, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Thomas McCready, who died 28 Aug 1907 at the age of 72 years. He was burried next to Elizabeth McCready..⁵

     Andrew was born on 15 September 1845 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of James McCready and Sallie Ann Marshall. Andrew was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Andrew MaCready, age 4 in HH#560 headed by James MaCready, a 45 year old farmer..³ He married Amanda J. (-----) circa 1869.² Andrew was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Andrew Mcready the head of HH#MT672, a 22 year old blacksmith. Listed with him was Amanda Mcready, age 18 and keeping house..⁴ He married Josephine Bohm on 13 February 1884 at Worcester Co, MD.⁵ Andrew died on 25 October 1913 at age 68.² His body was interred at Liberty Cem, Parksley, Acc Co, VA.      John was born circa 1832 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of James McCready and Sallie Ann Marshall. John was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as John Macready, an 18 year old laborer in HH#560 headed by James MaCready, a 45 year old farmer..³ John was listed with his brother in the census of in 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as John Mcredy, a 35 year old carpenter in HH#MT287 headed by Obediah Mcredy, a 20 year old farmer..⁴ He married Matilda 'Till' Small on 4 September 1870 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John McCready, a 35 year old laborer, the son of James & Sally McCready and she was shown as Matilda Chesser, a 30 year old widow, the daughter of Solomon & Sally Small. They were married by J.E.T. Ewell..² John died in January 1911. Mr. John McCready, about 90 years of age, was found dead in an oyster house of Capt. Isaac Somers in Muddy Creek a few days ago. He evidently died from exposure (P.E., 7 Jan 1911 & E.S. Herald, 13 Jan 1911)..⁵

     According to her parents family Bible, Ella Mae Corbin was born 7 Jan 1892, but someone worte over the 1892 and made it 1890. Her tombstone at Downing's shows 6 Jan 1891. Ella was born on 6 January 1891 at Accomack Co, VA.^2,3 She was the daughter of Corbin Fletcher Douglas 'Corb' Corbin and Mary Missouri 'Mamie' Bunting. She married Lewis Henry McCready on 2 February 1908.^1,4 Ella was on the in 1908 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁵ Ella was living in 1943 at Cape Charles, N'hamp Co, VA.⁶ Ella died on 1 October 1974 at age 83.³ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Ella Corbin, wife of Lewis H. McCready..³

     Donald was born on 31 July 1917 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Lewis Henry McCready and Ella Mae Corbin. He was christened on 2 September 1917.¹

     Madelyn was born on 1 March 1913 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Lewis Henry McCready and Ella Mae Corbin. She was christened on 2 September 1917 at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married (-----) Chapman circa 1934.³ Madelyn died on 25 September 1982 at age 69.⁴

     Adrian was born circa 1905 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Wesley Thomas Linton and Rosa E. Williams. He was christened in August 1905.¹ Adrian was living on 3 August 1943 at Philadelphia, PA.²

     Mr. & Mrs. Dewey Linton, Saxis, announce the marriage of their daughter, Anna Mae, to Elmo Marshall, son of Mr. & Mrs. G.W. Marshall, Saxis, at Pocomoke City on 7 Jun 1937. They will make their home at Saxis (E.S. News, 16 Jul 1937). Anna was born in 1920 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of George Dewey Linton. She married St Elmo Maxwell Marshall on 8 June 1937 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.³ Anna was living in 1948.¹ Anna died on 18 March 1996.

     Carrie was born circa 1903 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Robert A. Marshall and Bettie Washington Mister. She was christened in August 1904.¹

     Henry Washington Hall, aged 25 years, died at home at Sanford on 28 Sep 1930. Services were by Rev. F.T. Fulcher. Survivors were his parents, Mr. & Mrs. James H. Hall, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, all of which were listed, of Sanford (E.S. News, 3 Oct 1930). "Washy" told people that he would come back after he died and his casket flooted out of the ground during a flood one year and 6 months after he was buried. His common name was Washy. Washington was born on 15 October 1906 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of James H. Thomas 'Buck' Hall and Nancy Davis Killmon. Washington died on 28 September 1930 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA, at age 23.³ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.² Conflicting evidence states that he died on 25 September 1931.²

     Thomas was born on 6 December 1869 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of George E. Hall and Sally Drummond Killmon. Thomas died before 1870. He must have died very young as he was not in the 1870 Accomack County census with his parents..

     Napoleon was born circa 1861 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of George E. Hall and Sally Drummond Killmon. Napoleon was listed with his parents in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Napolean Hall, age 8 in HH#MT604 headed by George Hall, age 40 and an oysterman..² He married Mary E.W. Lewis on 13 April 1881 at Mears, Acc Co, VA. They were married by Montcalm Oldham, a Methodist minister, at Bethel Baptist Church. Napoleon was age 20 and an oysterman and Mary W. was age 15..¹ Napoleon was living on 11 August 1943 at Washington, DC.³

     His common name was Jack. Edward was born circa 1868 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of George E. Hall and Sally Drummond Killmon. Edward was listed with his parents in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Edward Hall, age 2 in HH#MT604 headed by George Hall, age 40 and an oysterman..² He married Ella S. Noble on 20 August 1895 at Somerset Co, MD.³ Edward was living in 1949 at Annapolis, MD. It is assumed that the "Jack" Hall of Annapolis memtioned in his brother, James H.T. Hall's, 1949 obituary is the same as Edward J. Hall, memtioned in Silverius Hall's ledger book. (Pen. Ent., 25 Feb 1949)..⁴

     Sallie was born circa 1872 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of George E. Hall and Sally Drummond Killmon. She married William Henry Knight on 30 March 1892 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA. He was a 30 year old oysterman and she was age 20..² Sallie was living in 1949 at Berlin, Wor Co, MD.¹

     Mary was born circa 1866 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Parker Lewis and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Lewis. She married Napoleon K. Hall on 13 April 1881 at Mears, Acc Co, VA. They were married by Montcalm Oldham, a Methodist minister, at Bethel Baptist Church. Napoleon was age 20 and an oysterman and Mary W. was age 15..¹ She married (-----) Masthein circa 1895.²

     Mr. Wm. H. Knight married Miss Sallie C. Hall 30 Mar 1892 near Belinda by Rev. John W. Nicholson (Pen. Ent., 2 Apr 1892). Mr. William Henry Knight, died at his home at Berlin, MD, on 24 Nov 1949, aged nearly 80 years. He was born 10 Mar 1869, the son of Henry Washington Knight and Rennie Marshall. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 2 Dec 1949). William was born on 10 March 1869 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Henry Washington Knight and Arenea 'Rennie' Marshall. He married Sallie C. Hall on 30 March 1892 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA. He was a 30 year old oysterman and she was age 20..² William died on 24 November 1949 at Berlin, Wor Co, MD, at age 80.¹

     Her common name was Molly. Mary was born before 1755 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of John Shay and Tabithia (-----). She married Henry Hall Sr. circa 1780 at Accomack Co, VA.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Mary was named in her husband's will on 9 February 1803 at Accomack Co, VA. She was named as wife Molly Hall and given his whole estate during her widowhood, with her paying a bond due Elizabeth Parker and Negro Agnes..⁴ Mary was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. 'Molly' Hall is shown as a head of family with the following free white males: 1 age 0-10 (b. 1800-1810), 1 age 10-16 (b. 1795-1800), 1 age 16-26 (b. 1785-1795). Free white females included: 2 age 10-16 (b. 1795-1800), 1 age 16-26 (b. 1785-1795), 1 age 26-45 (b. 1765-1785) and 1 age 45 and over (b. before 1765) being Molly herself. She had 8 slaves. If all of these were her children, she would have had 3 sons and 4 daughters living with her in 1810..² She made a will on 19 June 1816 at Accomack Co, VA. That part of my land that my husband bought of John Hall containing 100 acres to my daughter Elizabeth S. Hall with her making no use of the timber except for the plantation. To son Thomas Hall 50 acres adjoining land of William Hinman which my husband had from my father John Shay & the land lent to daughter Elizabeth, after Elizabeth's death, to Thomas Hall with him paying a debt due to Elizabeth Parker & paying Sally Eason wife of George Eason & my daughter £10 as soon as he can make the money from the land. To grandson Benjamin West my Negro girl Agnes Goliah & if Benjamin dies before lawful age then to granddaughter Nancy Lemmon & if both grandchildren die before lawful age, then to son Henry Hall. The order to inventory her estate was dated 28 Jul 1817 and recorded on 29 Jan 1821. Negroes in inventory: Nathan, George, David, Alomb & Agnes. Also in the inventory were 25 1/2 barrels corn 15 shillings per barrel - $63.75; half of the folder - $7.50; 1 pair wane wheals - $15.00; half of the heirs of two Negroes, Nathan & George, - $19.50; half of the heirs of Negro David - $15.00; half of the heirs of Negro Alomb - $15.00; and 1 Negro woman by the name of Agness - $250.00; totalling $385.75."      Nancy was born circa 1775.² She was the daughter of William Sterling and Sarah (-----). She married George Corbin on 17 September 1796 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Nancy died before 1820.²

     According to Nottingham's Wills and Administrations, p386, which refers to Acc Co Wills, 1788-1794, p386, John Shay's will, written 23 Sep 1788 and probated 29 June 1790, specified: To grandson John Shay Hall 83 acres where I now live, to daughter Mary Hall negroes for life, reversion to my grandaughters Tabitha and Mary Hall, to granddaughter Margaret Hall, to friend Isaac Warner, Isaac Warner Executor, Witt: John Howard, William S. Christopher, Mary Howard. John Shay Hall is also mentioned in Whitelaw, p1258, in describing the ownership of tract A147: 1742 Daniel Shae gave 133 acres to his son John. 1769 John and Tabitha Shae gave 50 acres to Henry Hall who had married their daughter Mary (Molly). 1790 John Shay left the balance of his land to a grandson John Shay Hall. The village of Hallwood is on this land and takes its name from this Hall family. John was born circa 1730. He was the son of Daniel Shay. He married Tabithia (-----) circa 1750.¹ John's will was probated on 29 June 1790 at Accomack Co, VA.^2,3 John died in 1790 at Accomack Co, VA.^2,3

     Tabithia, wife of John Shae/Shay, probably died before 1788 beacuse she was not mentioned in his will. Tabithia was born circa 1730. She married John Shay circa 1750.² Tabithia died before 1788 at Accomack Co, VA.^3,4

     When Lorie McCready was initiated into the Rechabites, Atlantic Tent No. 14, on 9 May 1909, he listed his age as 22 (b. 1887), occupation as oysterman, residence as Sanford and he was married. Lora was born in 1887 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Edward Thomas McCready and Annie L. 'Nancy' Hall. He married Edith King before 1909.^3,4 Lora was living after 1918 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.⁵ Lora died on 1 April 1964. Mr. Lora T. McCready, a carpenter of Pocomoke City, MD, died on 1 Apr 1964, aged 76 years. He was born in Sanford and lived in Pocomoke since 1918. Burial was a Downing's Cemetery. Survivors were listed (Pen.      Edith was born in 1887.¹ She married Lora T. McCready before 1909.^2,3 Edith was living in 1964 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.⁴ Edith died in 1965.¹ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Milton was born on 26 May 1919 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.¹ He was the son of Lora T. McCready and Edith King. Milton was living in 1964.¹
