His remains were brought to Onancock and funeral services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. L.R. Doughty, on Tuesday, 27 Feb conducted by Revs. H.W. Dunkley and H.N. Laws. He is survived by tow sisters, Mrs. L.R. Doughty of Onancock and Mrs. Wm Bloodgood, Locustville, and three brothers, Mr. John W. Phillips of Melfa, Mr. Coley Phillips of Keller, and Mr. Lee R. Phillips of Onley. Funeral services were held at the New Church Baptist Church, Sunday morning, 25 Feb, conducted by his pastor, Rev. S.B. Barnes, assisted by Rev. E.C. Graham. Interment was in Nelson Cemetery. his pallbearers were six nephess, Messrs. Carroll Rogers, Coley Harmon, Joseph L. Savage, Vernon W., William H. and Levin W.
