     Johannas Byrd was in the War of 1812. Major Bird was the security on the 1816 Acc Co M.L.B. of Johannes Bird, widower and Laney Coke of Richard. In his will, signed 23 Sep 1853, Johannas Bird, named: 5 sons, Jacob K. (land adjoining Henry Young), Parker (land adjoining Henry Young dec'd and James Northam), Samuel C. (remainder land), William T. and Colwell P. Bird; 3 daughters, Margaret, Elizabeth and Polly Bird; and 7 grandchildren, John, Eliza, Alexander, Washington, George and William Cutler [children of deceased daughter Hetty, w/o Smith Cutler] and Martin Fisher [son of deceased daughter Rachel Ann, w/o Thomas Fisher]. Jacob K. Bird was to handle the money for the Cutler children. The executors were Jacob K. and Parker Bird. Witnesses were S.J. Marshall, Martin K. Kelly and John H. Custis. Securities on the bond to probate were Martin K. Kelly and George P. Bird (Acc Co Wills, 1846-82, p. 157). Johannas was born on 2 December 1777 at Muddy Creek, Acc Co, VA.2 He was the son of Nathaniel Byrd Jr. and Naomi Watson. He married Margaret 'Peggy' Kelly on 10 September 1802 at Accomack Co, VA.3 He married Delana 'Laney' Coke on 17 September 1816 at Accomack Co, VA.4 Johannas was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Johannes Bird the head of HH#1046, a 72 year old farmer with real estate valued at $2,000. Listed with him were the following Birds: Elizabath, age 24; Parker, a 29 year old farmer; Mary, age 23; and Wm. T., a 26 year old carpenter. Also listed was Washington Cutler, age 6, who his grandson..5 Johannas died on 27 September 1853 at age 75.2 His body was interred at Byrd Plot, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.2 Johannas's will was probated on 31 October 1853 at Accomack Co, VA.6
