     Captain Zebadee F. Marshall, whose home was in Guilford, fell overboard from his bateau and drowned last Saturday, 13 Mar 1897, about 2 o'clock, about 3 miles from Marrows Island Lighthouse. He was a clever and popular young man about 35 years of age. His father and his brothers are looking for the body and offering a $30 reward (Father and brother Aaron, Douglas and John M. Marshall of Guilford) (Pen. Ent. 27 Mar 1897). His niece, Ruth Ann (Marshall) (Beckett) Roache, reports that his body may have never been found. Zebra was born circa 1866 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. He married (-----) Sprague circa 1885.³ Zebra died on 13 March 1897.⁴

     Thomas was born circa 1868 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. Thomas died in 1880 at Accomack Co, VA.³

     Aaron was born in 1869 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. He married Etta Mason on 7 December 1902 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Aaron died in 1912.² His body was interred at Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²

     John was born in 1873 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. He married Sallie F. Taylor on 30 December 1897 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ His body was interred at Liberty Cem, Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²

     Flora Bell Marshall's marriage record has not been located to date. Her marriage to Frank R. Justis is based on a daughter, Flora Justis, being named in Aaron Marshall's will and finding Flora B. Justis's tombstone in Parksley Cem., wife of Frank R. Justis. Flora was born on 28 April 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. Conflicting evidence states that Flora was born in 1879.² She married Frank R. Justice circa 1899.³ Flora died in 1946.² Her body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     Eva Jane Marshall's Acc Co birth record shows her as "Eva May" daughter of Aaron and Mary A. Marshall, born 6 Apr 1882. However, her daughter, Ruth Ann, reports that her mother did not have "May" in her name, it was "Eva Jane." Eva was born on 6 April 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. According to conflicting evidence, she married Zorobabel William Mason III on 25 January 1902.² She married Zorobabel William Mason III on 25 January 1903 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Eva died on 18 May 1967 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 85.⁴ Her body was interred at Mason Fm Plot, west of Parksley, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     Pearlie Lee Marshall left his entire estate to his widow, Carrie Marshall. Apparently he had no children. Pearly was born on 17 February 1887 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Aaron Marshall Jr. and Mary Jane Wessells. He married Carrie May East on 30 May 1921 at Accomack Co, VA.² Pearly was living in 1921 at Parksley, Acc Co, VA.² Pearly died in 1932.³ His body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.³ Pearly's will was probated on 13 July 1932 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴

     Etta was born in 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Zorobabel William 'Wm. B.' Mason II and Anne Elizabeth Young. She married Aaron Douglas Marshall on 7 December 1902 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Etta died in 1955.² Her body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     Sallie was born in 1873 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of John M. Taylor and Permelia A. Hickman. She married John M. Marshall on 30 December 1897 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Sallie died in 1945.² Her body was interred at Liberty Cem, Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²

     Zorobabel was born on 18 October 1882 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Zorobabel William 'Wm. B.' Mason II and Anne Elizabeth Young. According to conflicting evidence, he married Eva Jane Marshall on 25 January 1902.² He married Eva Jane Marshall on 25 January 1903 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Zorobabel died on 18 June 1951 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 68. His body was interred at Accomack Co, VA.

     Frank was born in 1877 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Flora Bell Marshall circa 1899.² Frank died in 1950.¹ His body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Milton was born circa 1864 at Marsh Market, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Thomas E. Marshall and Sarah R. 'Sally' Hall.      Alice M. Marshall, "daughter of Thomas E." was attending Onancock Academy in the fall of 1884 (Pen. Ent. 4 Oct, 1884). Her birth date is assumed to be that of an unnamed child born to Thomas E. and Sally R. Marshall, which matches Alice's age in the 1900 Census. According to Silverius Hall's ledger book she married a Raymond Hall of Pocomoke and according to her brother's, Henry Webster Marshall, obituary of 1946 she married F.F. Hall (Pen. Ent., 20 Dec 1946). Alice was born on 5 August 1875 at Marsh Market, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas E. Marshall and Sarah R. 'Sally' Hall.      The Merritt Marshall farm was between the village of Grotons and what is now the Keith Broadwater farm. Merritt was born in 1872 at Marsh Market, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Thomas E. Marshall and Sarah R. 'Sally' Hall. Merritt was listed with his parents in the census of in 1880 at Atlantic Dist, Bay Side, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Merritt Marshall, an 8 year old son of Thos. E. Marshall the head of HH#407, a 52 year old sailor..³ He married Evelyn Miles on 21 December 1898 at Pocomoke Meth Ch, Grotons, Acc Co, VA.¹ Merritt was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1910 at Atlantic Dist, Acc Co, VA. Mr. Merritt Marshall died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ira McDaniel, Girdletree, Thursday, 30 Jan 1947, aged 74 years. His funeral will be held at the Pocomoke Methodist Church, Sunday, 2 Feb 1947 at 2 p.m., with burial in Downing's Cemetery, Oak Hall (Pen. Ent., 31 Jan 1947)..⁷ His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.²

     Clara was born on 10 May 1880.² She was the daughter of Edward Lewis and Manie (-----). She married Isaac Kendall 'Ken Ike' Marshall on 13 October 1917 at Bloxom, Acc Co, VA.¹ Clara was living in 1937 at Mears, Acc Co, VA.² Clara died on 3 September 1971 at age 91.²

     Henrietta was born on 18 January 1854 at Bloxom, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of John J. Bloxom and Mary Ann Young. Henrietta was listed with her parents in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Henrietta Bloxom, age 8 in HH#668 headed by John Bloxom, a 37 year old carpenter..¹ She married Henry Clay Marshall on 1 February 1871 at Worcester Co, MD.³ Henrietta died on 27 September 1946 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 92.⁴ Her body was interred at Nelsons Cem, MD/VA line.⁵

     Mrs. Alexandria W. Marshall died at her home near Hallwood on 19 Mar 1921, aged 51 years, survivors were listed (Acc News, 25 Mar 1921). 10 children were named and all but Annie and Nellie have been identifed. One must be Mrs. Wm. E. Sterling and the other is Mrs. Berkley Trader. Mary was born in October 1870 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of James E. Ayres and Margaret Ann Hickman. She married Alexander Washington Marshall on 29 May 1887 at Somerset Co, MD.³ Mary died on 19 March 1921 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at age 50.¹ Conflicting evidence states that she died in 1922.⁴ Her body was interred at Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     John was born on 9 April 1824 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Elijah 'Eli' Bloxom and Mary White. John was named in his father's will on 4 June 1839 at Accomack Co, VA.      Alice was born on 27 December 1875 at Mears, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Isaac Kendall 'Ken Ike' Marshall and Marianna 'Anner' Burton.      Addie was born on 1 March 1896 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Oscar R. Marshall Jr. and Clarenda Wilkerson. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.² She married Samuel S. Marshall on 15 December 1912 at Somerset Co, MD.^3,4 Addie was living in 1945 at New Church, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     Robert was born on 10 May 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Charles William Marshall and Isabelle Susan Bell. He married Nancy J. Trader on 29 July 1900 at Worcester Co, MD.² Robert died in 1928.³ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.³

     Mrs. Nancy Trader of Hallwood, age 59 years died at home on 5 Sep 1943. Services were conducted at the residence by Revs. Fletcher and Clark, with interment in the Groton Cemetery. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 10 Sep 1943). Nancy was born on 16 September 1883 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Raymond James Trader and Mary J. Thornton. She married Robert J. Marshall on 29 July 1900 at Worcester Co, MD.² Nancy was living in 1937.³ Nancy died on 5 September 1943 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at age 59.⁴ Her body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     Earl was born on 7 July 1902 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Oscar R. Marshall Jr. and Clarenda Wilkerson. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Marie Alva Drummond circa 1920.³ Earl was living in 1945.² Earl died on 21 August 1974 at NAM Hospital, Nassawadox, N'hamp Co, VA, at age 72.² His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Ruth was born in 1893 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Oscar R. Marshall Jr. and Clarenda Wilkerson. Ruth was living in 1945 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.¹ Ruth died on 28 August 1979.² Her body was interred at Chance & Rock Ck, Somerset Co, MD.²

     Miss Mamie Marshall of Belinda and Mr. Ernest Taylor of Bloxom were married on Sunday evening, 7 Sep 1919, at the Maryland State line by Rev. T.C. Jones, Pastor of the M.E. Church at New Church (Acc News, 12 Sep 1919). Mamie was born in 1898 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Oscar R. Marshall Jr. and Clarenda Wilkerson. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Ernest D. 'Dink' Taylor on 7 September 1919 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.³ Mamie was living in 1945 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Her body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.²
